Berlin. “Apartment 62.”
It’s easy to walk right past it on an ordinary Berlin street—with no flashy signs or posters. Inside, the warm glow of floor lamps illuminates the room, and portraits of poets and writers hang on the walls; someone is already reciting verses and checking the sound before the evening concert. Prices here are kept affordable so you can drop in for a meal “just because”: a pot of pelmeni is already bubbling away in the kitchen; a large bowl of Olivier salad makes an appearance for New Year’s; “The Irony of Fate” plays on the projector; and by midnight, strangers have become friends. In the summer, there are festivals and creative gatherings. On Fridays there are concerts, on Saturdays stand-up comedy; sometimes everything blends together and goes on late into the night. “Apartment 62” is all about creativity and warmth: here, they’ll support any creative initiative and serve you a delicious meal.
